Birthday dinner combo

The very generous and generally lovely @TheFrankFlyer took me to the local Wagamama for a celebratory dinner last night (yes, you still get to celebrate birthdays once you’re 40 plus…) and went for my favourite: their very excellent Chicken Katsu Curry. I usually try to vary my selections there, often ordering something new. But last night was all about guaranteeing the enjoying, so Chicken Katsu it was!

I paired this with Ebi Katsu and a delicious ‘lollipop prawn’ dish, that I’ll definitely be having again. All topped off with a bottle of delicious Kansho beer from the Meantime Brewing company.

Infused with ginger and lime, this IPA was the perfect accompaniment to my spicy dinner. Interestingly, the brewer’s website agrees:

We recommend you enjoy the Kansho alongside Wagamama’s Chicken Katsu Curry, or Lollipop Prawn Kushiyaki.

So unbeknownst to me, I was following expert advice. I’m compliant if nothing else.

And now all I want to do is find out where I can buy this direct and have a few bottles at home at all times…

  1. I love their katsu curry! Not tried that beer though. My local one does Lucky Buddha and Kirim Ichiban so I usually go for one of those 🙂

    1. I think it’s a new thing. Definitely worth a try – if you like ginger and lime! But it was the perfect drink to go with my meal. Heaven!
