I’ve been pretty good at ignoring virtually all of the suggested receipts that came with my NutriBullet Once I’d made a couple of drinks, I got into the habit of experimenting with various fruits and vegetables, as well as a nuts, seeds and juices.
My staple ingredients for morning drinks are basally bananas, almond milk and peanut butter. This morning, I had a brain wave while at the gym and realised that this is missing one key ingredient: caffeine!
Courtesy of my Nespresso machine, I chug down a couple of espressos every morning before work. While I’ve been lauding the ease of use of the NutriBullet and speed with which I can make some pretty spectacular drinks, I’ve still making and consuming coffee separately.
Until this morning.
I made something a little different: two Nespresso Ristretto capsules (made on Lungo setting), added to about 400ml of cold almond milk (unsweetened) and a teaspoon of crunch organic peanut butter. All blitzed together in the machine.
Be still my beating heart!
This will be my new morning drink. It’s creamy, has a caffeine kick but it’s also filling. Next time, I’ll add a banana for some more substance. I might also experiment with cocoa powder, as suggested by several blog posts I came across this morning.
