First run in over two weeks: nailed.
Went from Wapping out to Westminster, looped past St. Thomas’s Hospital and home again. 15km completed, though at quite an easygoing pace. After two days of a crippling stomach bug, I now realise running this wasn’t the best of ideas.
For a few minutes near Westminster Bridge, I was quite worried I’d have my own – equally public – Paula Radcliffe moment. I persevered and made it home in one piece. But seriously, it was a close call.
A few weeks now until the Reading half-marathon and just a few weeks more until M-Day: the London Marathon. I need to work up my mileage again, starting from Monday. Unfortunately, the volume if business travel I have coming up means I’ll have to adapt my training schedule and even resort to hotel gym treadmills.
But for today, a lovely relaxing run in the London sunshine.
