Some big news

As you’ll have seen from my recent post, I really enjoyed last week’s Royal Parks half-marathon. Within 24 hours, I had fielded over a dozen questions about when I was going to run my first marathon. Despite running three half marathons this year, I’ve never run a full marathon.

But then, I got the email that changed everything. I’ve been offered (and have accepted) a place in next year’s London Marathon, courtesy of Epilepsy Action.

I’m thrilled.

And not a little nervous.

Lots of work required, both in terms of training and in raising lots of money for Epilepsy Action. But I have time – it’s not until next April.

So expect an increase in running-related posts. And apologies in advance for any moans about having to train through dark and wet London evenings this winter.

Finally – if you’ve run a marathon, any tips most welcome. I don’t think I’m aiming for a particular time, just to finish without injuring myself.
