iPad pricing for the UK?

TUAW is reporting that prices for the UK iPad have been leaked:

According to Geeky Gadgets’ unconfirmed source, the iPad will be priced as follows when it’s launched across the pond:

  • The 16GB Wi-Fi will be £389
  • The 32GB Wi-Fi model will be £439
  • The 64GB Wi-Fi model will be £489

It should be noted that the source didn’t have any pricing information on the Wi-Fi + 3G model, and further suggested that the UK launch date for the iPad is more likely to be in April rather than March.

Yes, if you compare the above prices to the published US prices (and convert currencies, obviously) you’ll notice that UK Apple customers once again appear to be paying significantly more than their US cousins. That’s why I budgeted £500 for a top of the line WiFi iPad when they were announced.

Seems I wasn’t too far off.

  1. Don’t you guys get screwed less with connectivity, though? ATT is a bunch of whores…

Any rate, I’m excited for you! I reckon it’ll be a new macbook for me in about a year or so.

    • I think wifi is cheaper here, as is 3G data in general. I’ll be getting the wifi version, not 3g, and pairing it with a Mifi as I don’t think I could bear yet another monthly bill from a telecoms company…

  2. Apple has once again built an amazing product that looks nice and feels great in the hand , and the familiar user interface, lent from the iPhone and iPod touch, it is perfectly suited to the bigger screen. My 1st impressions of the iPad are largely positive, the new iPad whizzes along, you can open applications, resizing web pages, and zooming in and out of maps almost instantaneously. I´m still waiting to test more, but the first tests are amazing. Regards, Lakisha Friedberg
