To lose one minister is unfortunate…

Another day, another resignation from the Irish Government. Junior minister Trevor Sargent of the Green Party (aka Fianna Fail’s be-atches) resigned in the Dail today, his resignation speech lasting under two minutes.

It was dignified, but I find it hard to feel any sympathy for him or his colleagues in the Green Party, who are simply propping up an incompetent coalition with Brian Cowen at the helm.

I watched some of the proceedings from Leinster House today, courtesy of the live stream over the internet, and cringed several times at Cowen’s contribution.

He’s quite simply a shambles and the sooner he’s out, the better.
